Get a proper 2-up seat. The mustang is good for the driver but is seriously lacking for passenger comfort. Rule of thumb, the uglier it looks the comfier it'll be.

other than finding a better seat, you can't do much for her. perhaps look at moving the pegs a little or getting her platforms to put her feet on.

Ask the wife what it is making her uncomfortable, and target the he!! out of those issues. Once they are fixed she will be happier, and you will be happier. A custom seat may be in order for her to ride comfortably. Whatever changes are required it will still be better than having to buy a bigger bike.

I have a better idea
an 07 HD 883C's are selling used for around $12K
sell it for $12K and for that much money you can buy a better bike that's passenger friendly such as a Yamaha V Star 1300 Tourer at $7599 brand new, or a Honda VTX1300T at $8995 brand new.
i don't understand why I got a "thumbs down" I am just being honest, the V Star 1300T and The VTX1300T are VERY good bikes that are designed to haul a passenger, and the HD883 isn't
just being honest
why not take your HD883 to a Yamaha or Honda Dealer and trade it in on a bike thats better for riding a passenger?
they are not selling anything right now and they are very desperate to sell you a bike, take one for a test ride with your wife riding on the back and see how more comfortable she feels, the V Star 1300 and VTX1300 are mush more powerful and vibration free, more reliable, better gas mileage, extended range, more comfortable riding postion, water cooled, fuel injection.
